Book in seconds
See what's free, book your 60-minute slot on your phone, done. No booking, no session — you reserve your time first, every time. No calls, no front desk.
A private gym on the coast — booked and unlocked from your phone. Join and pay a fraction of the price, or drop in casual. 24/7, minutes from your door.
Until now, your options were:
For a coast full of people who train, that's a strange gap.
Salt & Iron closes it. Two private pods in town — one weights, one cardio. Book by the session, pay only for what you use. No front desk, no contract, no crowd. Just your rack, free the second you walk in — because you booked it.
98 memberships, ever, at this site. Founding pricing closes for good once the 42 are gone; the next 56 join at the standard rate.
A capped run of founding members funds the first pod — sold before we build, so you're not paying for a promise, you're the reason it gets made. Two ways in:
Fully refundable until we hit the number that greenlights the build. If we don't get there, you pay nothing.
See what's free, book your 60-minute slot on your phone, done. No booking, no session — you reserve your time first, every time. No calls, no front desk.
The pod only ever unlocks for a booked slot. Your booking opens the door at your time and locks it after — no fob, no key, no one to let you in.
Drop in casual at $40 a session, or become a member: $19 a month drops every session to $15. Casual's there for one-offs — but train even twice a month and membership pays for itself. It's the discount, not the door.
The pod is yours for your slot — just you, or a training partner. No crowds, no queue, never waiting for a rack.
Rack, bar, plates, dumbbells — the essentials done properly and kept spotless. Serious gear, chosen, not a graveyard of machines.
5am, midnight, a wet Sunday — book it and it's open. The pod never closes and never has a queue.
Drop in casual, or become a member and pay a fraction of the price. Every booking is a full 60 minutes — the whole pod, yours for the hour. Train solo, or bring a mate and split the cost. The app always marks your slot private, so no one else walks in.
Casual is the drop-in rate — no membership, and steep on purpose. A $19/month membership drops every session to $15. Training longer? The next back-to-back hour is half price ($7.50).
Casual is the expensive drop-in ($40) — no membership, no strings, no discount. It's priced to make the choice obvious: become a member and every session drops to $15, a fraction of casual. Membership isn't a gate, it's the discount. Train the same time each week? Lock a standing slot so it's always held for you.
The drop-in rate, steep on purpose. No commitment — but no discount either. This is the full price; members pay a fraction of it.
With a mate — $50 total, $25 each
Full priceA $19/month membership drops every session to $15 — less than half of casual. Book any open slot, whenever it suits. Pays for itself in two sessions.
With a mate — $20 total, $10 each
Back-to-back hour — 50% off the second ($7.50)
Best valueLock your regular time — same slot every week, held for you. Never log in to re-book, never lose your 6am.
With a mate — $33 total, $16.50 each
Never re-bookThe nearest gym is a 40-minute round trip. Three times a week, that's 80 hours a year in the car — two full working weeks — before you've touched a barbell. Then you fight for a park.
Once you count the petrol, a pod and the Bay cost about the same — within a few dollars a week. Count what the car really costs you, and the pod comes out cheaper. But the money was never the point.
Same money. Zero commute.
Park at your pod.
Anytime Fitness Batemans Bay $23.95/wk (12-month) is the membership only — its joining fee and access pass are on top again, and not counted here. Training 3× a week × 40 weeks. "Count the drive" runs from petrol only to full car running cost (ATO 88¢/km) over a ~26 km round trip (about 40 minutes there and back). Pod figure is the member rate — $15 per 60-min session plus $19/mo. Real, current numbers.
The pod is licensed to only two local trainers or exercise physiologists — by application, and that's the cap. Kept deliberately small so it never becomes their gym running your times. It stays yours; a trusted pro just books the pod for your session, at the PT rate.
An accredited Exercise Physiologist delivers clinical exercise — and your sessions in the pod may be funded, not out of pocket, through:
Eligibility and rebates depend on your circumstances — your GP and EP confirm what you qualify for. Salt & Iron provides the private space; your EP delivers the service and bills the scheme.
Reserve a founding membership at the launch rate. Fully refundable until we greenlight.
Once enough founding members are in, the first pod is funded and go.
Both pods on site in the one container, app live, phone-unlock and safety kit — a few weeks, not months.
Open the app, book your slot, unlock with your phone. Founding rate through the launch.
Both pods — Strength and Cardio — go into Tomakin first, in the one container. After that, we don't guess: the coast decides where the next container lands. Register your interest for your town, and the one with the most people ready to train gets it. No expression of interest costs you a cent; it's a vote, not a deposit.
No staff, no front desk. You book a slot in the app and your phone unlocks the pod at your time; it locks again after. Secure entry, monitored cameras and duress alarm, full safety kit — the standard model for modern 24/7 pods.
No — you can drop in casual at $40 a session with no membership. But casual is priced to be expensive on purpose. Train even a couple of times a month and a $19/month membership pays for itself, dropping every session to $15 (less than half of casual), plus lower buddy and standing rates. Casual's for one-offs and visitors; membership is for people who actually train. Cancel the membership anytime.
No. Grab a standing slot and your regular time — say 6am Mon/Wed/Fri — is held for you every week, automatically. You never log in to re-book and never lose your spot to someone quicker on the app. It costs a little more per session, because that slot is yours alone.
In Tomakin, on an established local site (a caravan/holiday park) with parking, power and amenities already there. The exact spot is confirmed with founding members before the pod drops.
Tomakin gets both pods first — Strength and Cardio, in the one container. After that, the coast decides where the next container lands, and the town with the most expressions of interest wins. Register your town above — it costs nothing and it's the single biggest thing you can do to bring a site to you. Each site is a self-contained two-pod container, so once demand in a town stacks up, we drop one in.
Two ways in. Pay as you go — $12 a session for your first 3 months, then the member rate. Or go annual — an annual membership (one month free) plus a pre-paid pack of 50 or 100 sessions at $12, and first pick of standing slots (your regular time, before anyone). Either way: 24/7 from day one, your name on the founding wall, and you're the reason the pod gets built.
Then we don't build, and your founding deposit is refunded in full. You only ever pay once the pod is going ahead.
A properly-specced free-weights and strength setup — rack, barbell, plates, dumbbells and the essentials — chosen for people who actually train, and kept spotless. Private to you for your whole session.
Tomakin founders fund the first container — both pods — at the launch rate, refundable until we build. Everyone else: register interest for your town and pull the next container your way. Same form, no payment either way.
We fund, build, run and insure it — you provide a serviced pad with power and take a share of the revenue. Zero capital, and it's relocatable. Register your interest below; approved site partners get an access code to view the full partnership prospectus.
